ACCIONA Energia is seeking an experienced Senior Environment Compliance Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month parental leave contract. This role is responsible for driving environmental compliance across projects in development, construction and operational phases, while providing support to renewable energy sites across Queensland.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and implement environmental compliance obligations, approvals, permits and management plans.
- Provide environmental and planning advice to project, construction and operations teams.
- Conduct site audits, inspections and compliance reporting, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor compliance with environmental approvals, EPBC obligations, offsets and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs.
- Manage environmental incidents and coordinate responses with internal teams, regulators and consultants.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, consultants, contractors and community stakeholders.
- Assist with the preparation and ongoing maintenance of Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
- Manage specialist consultants and environmental monitoring programs.
- Support development activities by coordinating environmental studies, planning approvals and permit applications.
- Participate in site inspections and travel to construction and operational sites as required.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Planning, Natural Resource Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in environmental compliance, planning, approvals or environmental management.
- Strong knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and compliance requirements, particularly in Queensland.
- Experience working with environmental approvals, compliance programs and development application processes.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and reporting skills.
- Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to site.
