Our client, a global leader in welding, cutting, and automation technology to recruit a District Sales Manager to join their innovative and growing sales team in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products, including features, benefits, and customer value propositions, to effectively communicate and position offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with distribution channels, primarily welding supply distributors, positioning them as key agents of the company.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed established sales targets.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and product demonstrations to customers and stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and distributor open houses as required.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM as the primary tool to document sales activities, manage pipelines, and track opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit bi-weekly expense reports in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing to establish and achieve performance targets.
  • Independently manage schedules and territory activities to maximize sales effectiveness.
  • Maintain all assigned company equipment and property in good working condition.
  • Conduct all business activities with honesty, integrity, and professionalism as a representative of the company.
  • Ensure timely responses to emails, phone calls, and other communications.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the welding industry, including processes, equipment, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support broader company objectives and customer needs.
  • Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter, requiring minimal supervision to achieve goals.

Qualifications

  • Canadian citizen with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel extensively (approximately 80%) within Ontario; occasional overnight travel required.
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one for travel to U.S. training and meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, strategies, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with the welding industry is considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to complying with all company policies, including vehicle and expense policies.
