[What you will be working on]
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of software and digital platform projects, ensuring successful outcomes within agreed scope, budget, quality and schedule.
- Own and drive Agile software delivery processes across the project lifecycle.
- Serve as Scrum Master and delivery lead where required, organising, facilitating and ensuring the effectiveness of all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to define, refine and prioritise epics, features and user stories, ensuring development teams have a clear and actionable backlog.
- Track sprint goals, team velocity, burn-down metrics, dependencies and delivery risks, taking proactive actions to maintain delivery momentum and predictability.
- Remove impediments and facilitate resolution of issues that may impact software delivery.
- Serve as the primary interface between business stakeholders, product owners, vendors and software engineering teams.
- Translate business requirements into clear technical deliverables and work packages for engineering teams.
- Work closely with software architects and engineers to evaluate solution designs, implementation approaches, technical risks and trade-offs.
- Coordinate internal and external engineering resources to ensure effective delivery and resource utilisation.
- Monitor project health, identify risks and dependencies, and drive timely mitigation and resolution.
- Manage stakeholder communications and provide regular updates on project status, key decisions, risks and milestones.
- Oversee project governance, documentation, procurement activities and vendor performance where applicable.
- Ensure software solutions comply with cybersecurity, architecture, operational and organisational requirements.
- Foster collaboration between multidisciplinary teams including software engineers, infrastructure engineers, cybersecurity specialists, data professionals and business users.
- Support tender and procurement activities, including requirements definition, technical evaluations and vendor engagements.
[What we are looking for]
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in software delivery, digital transformation, product delivery or technology programme management.
- Proven track record of leading software development projects from concept through delivery and operations.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies and modern engineering practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading Agile software delivery teams using Scrum methodologies.
- Proven experience facilitating sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Strong understanding of Agile metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, cycle time and release planning.
- Able to engage confidently with software engineers, solution architects and technical specialists on system design, architecture, integration and delivery considerations.
- Experience managing vendors, system integrators and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, APIs, enterprise software systems and modern application architectures.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resolve issues and drive delivery in complex project environments.
- Team player with strong people management, facilitation and conflict resolution skills.
Ideal Candidate Profile: - The successful candidate is not expected to write code, but should possess sufficient software engineering knowledge and delivery experience to challenge assumptions and proposals from vendors and engineering teams.
