Key Responsibilities
1. Global-to-India HR Alignment & Operations
- Serve as the India People Operations partner, working closely with India and the US teams to roll out talent initiatives, policies, and systems.
- Work as the primary People Operations point of contact for India employees, managing day-to-day employee queries and coordinating with managers, Finance, IT, global People Operations, and external vendors.
- Maintain accurate employee data, HRIS records (e.g., Rippling), employment changes, compensation updates, employee documentation, periodic HRIS data audits, leave management, and attendance systems.
- Coordinate India payroll, including preparation and validation of payroll inputs, new-joiner details, leave impacts, compensation changes, reimbursements, and final review with Finance/payroll partners to ensure accurate, timely monthly disbursement.
- Maintain operational and compliance trackers covering statutory requirements, insurance, contracts, renewals, audits, and other recurring People Operations deadlines.
2. Full-Cycle Talent Acquisition
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for India-based roles across tech, product, and business ops.
- Partner with hiring managers to develop structured screening criteria, interview scorecards, competency assessments, and candidate evaluation processes.
- Manage recruitment activities including application review, sourcing via LinkedIn or other job boards, employee referrals, screening calls, candidate shortlisting, interview scheduling across time zones, candidate communication, hiring-manager follow-ups, reference checks, offer coordination, and onboarding handoff.
- Maintain accurate recruitment pipelines and reporting through Greenhouse and other sourcing platforms.
3. Onboarding & Employee Experience
- Own the end-to-end employee lifecycle for India, including preboarding, onboarding, employment changes, promotions, employee documentation, and offboarding.
- Drive culture-building initiatives, team offsites, virtual All teams meeting etc.
- Coordinate onboarding readiness across People Ops, IT, and hiring managers, including HRIS setup, documentation, equipment/access provisioning, orientation, and new-hire check-ins.
- Conduct stay and exit interviews, analyze attrition data, and manage the complete offboarding activities, including asset recovery, IT/access removal, and the full & final (F&F) settlement process.
4. Compliance & Workplace Relations
- Draft, review, implement, and communicate India People policies, updating them in response to business requirements and changes in employment legislation.
- Ensure strict compliance with Indian labor laws (Shops & Establishments, PF, ESIC, POSH, Gratuity).
- Manage People-related vendors and coordinate with payroll, insurance, legal, IT, background verification, training, and other external partners.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee grievances, maintaining high confidentiality, empathy, and workplace safety.
