Project Coordinator – Special Projects
We've partnered with a leading General Contractor to support the growth of their Special Projects Group. This team delivers a wide range of projects—from high-end restaurants, spas, and private schools to commercial interiors and new builds—bringing creativity, precision, and collaboration to every job.
As an Project Coordinator in the Special Projects Group, you'll support the delivery of unique, fast-paced projects that require versatility and attention to detail. Working alongside senior Project Managers, you'll help transform interiors, support ground-up builds, and assist in managing complex commercial spaces—playing a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.
This Commercial General Contractor combines the agility of a growing firm with the polished professionalism of Canada's largest builders. Collaboration is at the heart of everything they do—empowering their project teams to work closely with clients, consultants, and trade partners while leveraging the latest tools and processes. This is a role where learning, initiative, and problem-solving are celebrated, with a clear path to growing into full Project Manager responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Special Projects (interiors and new builds) from initiation to close-out, assisting the Project Manager in ensuring consistent delivery of quality and client satisfaction.
- Help coordinate with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams to develop and execute tailored solutions for complex construction scenarios.
- Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and resources to help keep projects on time and within scope.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation, supporting transparency and accountability throughout all project phases.
- Help identify potential risks and support their resolution, upholding high standards of safety, compliance, and communication.
- Support and collaborate with site teams to help maintain a culture focused on service quality and site excellence.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years' experience supporting or coordinating construction projects (interiors and/or new build), ideally within commercial, institutional, or industrial sectors.
- Working knowledge of project lifecycles, budgets, schedules, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to support multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Eagerness to learn, problem-solve, and take on increasing responsibility within a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
- Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
