We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join Amentum’s Advanced Solutions Group. Candidates may be based at our Tullahoma, TN; Farmington Hills, MI; or Greenville, SC office.
Our Advanced Solutions Group delivers the design, construction, and operation of unique and complex research and development facilities across the nuclear, automotive, motorsports, defense, and aerospace industries. Our team has supported an impressive range of clients, including Audi, Boeing, BMW, Fiat Chrysler, Ford, Honda, General Motors, NASA, the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of Energy, Volkswagen, and organizations throughout North America, Europe, and Asia.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers with project planning, scheduling, cost estimates, specifications, requirements, deliverables, and team communications.
- Coordinate workflows with engineering teams and functional groups, including project accounting, project controls, and project administration, to ensure information is communicated in accordance with the project control plan.
- Track project progress, resource usage, estimates to complete (ETCs), change requests, pricing, and client-side project tracking deliverables; identify problem areas and recommend corrective actions.
- Support procurement activities by vetting potential suppliers, coordinating bidding, assisting with subcontract and major vendor contracts, coordinating change orders, and providing feedback on supplier performance.
- Interface effectively with customers, internal resources and functional groups, project teams, and external suppliers.
- Assist in developing new business opportunities and gathering information needed to support project estimates and planning.
- Support project and process quality audits, track and assist with the disposition of non-conforming products, and recommend opportunities for process improvement.
- Interpret internal and external business issues, consider multiple perspectives, recommend best practices, and assist in resolving project delivery issues using established solutions and procedures.
- Balance technical quality with cost and schedule requirements while maintaining an effective interface between the client and project team.
- Manage projects of limited scope within contractual cost and schedule requirements, including reviewing documentation and deliverables for quality and quantity.
- Work independently with guidance in the most complex or technical situations while following established deadlines, priorities, and limits of authority, with project progress reviewed by higher management.
Required Qualifications:
- US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 5 years of technical project experience, such as engineering or construction. Advanced degrees may substitute for years of engineering experience.
- Demonstrated performance on assignments of increasing responsibility.
- Comprehensive depth and/or breadth of expertise in capital expenditure project processes and organizational management, including marketing, design, procurement, fabrication and installation, and turnover processes.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools, such as Microsoft Project, as well as procurement processes and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills, both in person and virtually through platforms such as Microsoft Teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with contracting specification processes and assembling procurement packages based on AIA MasterSpec or USG SpecsIntact.
- Familiarity with financial/procurement systems such as PeopleSoft experience.
Description of Work Environment:
- Work will mainly be performed in an inside-office environment.
- Minimal travel to customer sites may be required.
This is a workforce planning requisition, we will be considering candidates at all levels for contingent and funded openings.
Compensation Details:
75,000 - 115,000
