The Rolla Catholic Newman Center in Rolla, MO is hiring a part-time Administrative Assistant.
Organization Overview:
Miner Catholic is a campus ministry organization that provides a faith community to the students of Missouri S&T. With 90%+ of students being an hour or more away from home, it is our responsibility to provide a faith community for all students in Rolla that can be a home away from home for them. Our ministry provides bible studies, retreats, adoration, faith formation, service opportunities, community events, and leadership opportunities.
Job Overview:
The Office Manager supports the daily operations of Campus Ministry by managing administrative, communication, and organizational tasks. Their role is to ensure the smooth functioning of ministry activities and office operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage calendars, schedules, room reservations, and event logistics.
- Maintain student registration, event registrations, volunteer lists, and donor database.
- Prepare newsletters, emails, and other communications - Including layout editing, copy editing, printing & mailing.
- Collaborate with parish office staff to assist in maintaining parish bookkeeping records, procuring reimbursements, and paying invoices.
- Assist in facility upkeep, including janitorial and office needs.
- Answer phone calls, voicemails, emails, mail, and general inquiries.
- Support the collection of registrations and fees.
- Assist with ensuring parish, diocesan, local, and federal policy compliance.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Campus Minister.
Qualifications:
- Is a practicing Catholic in good standing with the church.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic campus ministry.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, including email, spreadsheets, calendars, and document preparation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a welcoming, service-oriented attitude toward students, volunteers, parishioners, and visitors.
- Familiarity with social media, newsletters, or communication platforms is preferred.
- Experience coordinating events, registrations, or volunteer schedules preferred.
- Experience with bookkeeping, data entry, or office financial procedures preferred.
Salary Information: $16 - $19 hourly based on experience.
Expected hours: 20 hours weekly while school is in session, 10 hours weekly otherwise
Location: In Person (Office provided)
