Description
We are working closely with a local authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of a Quantity Surveyor ,on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £25.85- £32.82 per hour
Summary:
Quantity Surveyor to support the successful commercial delivery of highways and infrastructure projects for NY Highways. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects, ensuring effective cost control, procurement, risk management, forecasting, and contract administration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial aspects of allocated highways and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
- Administer contracts and subcontracts in accordance with contractual requirements, including payment mechanisms, change management, and final accounts.
- Assist in resolving contractual disputes through negotiation, conflict avoidance, and dispute resolution procedures.
- Analyse Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Rates, Activity Schedules, and tender documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NY Highways governance, financial controls, procurement procedures, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Membership of, or working towards membership of, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), or another relevant professional body.
Essentials:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways, civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction projects.
- Experience managing project budgets, cost forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
- Demonstrable experience administering standard forms of contract, particularly NEC and JCT contracts.
- Good knowledge of Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Rates, Activity Schedules, and standard methods of measurement.
