About the Role

Join Haleon's Consumer Science & Product Intelligence (CSPI) team and help bring the consumer voice into the development of some of the world's most trusted health and wellness brands. Working alongside consumer scientists in our Richmond R&D hub, you'll support product testing, sensory evaluation, focus groups, and consumer research activities that influence innovation from concept through launch. The role provides exposure to the full product development lifecycle and offers the opportunity to work on products across multiple consumer healthcare categories. 

This co-op offers hands-on experience designing and executing consumer studies, collecting and analyzing feedback, and translating insights into recommendations that help shape future products. You'll work closely with Consumer Science, Product Development, and cross-functional R&D teams while developing skills in consumer research, sensory science, data interpretation, storytelling, and scientific communication.

Responsibilities

  Support the planning and execution of consumer research studies, sensory evaluations, employee product tests, and focus groups. 

  Assist with the development of surveys, questionnaires, discussion guides, screeners, and study materials. 

  Collect, analyze, and summarize consumer feedback, ratings and reviews, and research findings to generate actionable insights. 

  Prepare reports and presentations that communicate consumer insights and recommendations to project teams. 

  Support product testing logistics, research documentation, and study approval processes. 

  Collaborate with Consumer Science, Product Development, and cross-functional R&D teams to support innovation and product development projects.

Essential Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Pharmacy, Consumer Science, Market Research, or another related scientific field.

• Strong interest in consumer research, sensory science, product testing, or product development.

• Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the co-op.

• Expected graduation date after July 2027.

Preferred Qualifications

• Coursework or experience in sensory science, consumer research, market research, or product testing.

• Experience collecting, analyzing, or presenting research data.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

• Exposure to statistics, survey design, or consumer research methodologies.

Eligibility and Program Requirements:

• This internship requires working at the designated location. Candidates requiring relocation are responsible for arranging and funding their own housing, transportation, and relocation needs.
• Candidate must be able to work full-time (40 hours/ week) Monday-Friday ~8am-5pm for 6 months.
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship in the future. Work authorization documentation will be required during the application process.

• The position is based in Richmond, requiring an in-office presence of 4-5 days per week.

 

Expected start date: Jan 2027, possible 6-month extension 

Compensation for this internship is based on academic standing and degree program:

• Freshman: $20.00/hour

• Sophomore: $22.50/hour

• Junior: $24.50/hour

• Senior: $26.00/hour

• Master's Student (Non-Engineering): $28.00/hour

• Master's Student (Engineering): $30.00/hour
