About Our Family
We are a warm, close-knit family of five living in Denver — one mom, four children ages 12, 9, 7, and 5, and one endlessly devoted French bulldog who considers himself equally entitled to the family's attention. Our home is energetic, fast-moving, and never dull. Our days are full - between school, a packed sports schedule, and a demanding professional career, the pace here is fast and never slows down. We are a home that thrives on structure but also knows how to have fun, and we're looking for someone who can bring calm and consistency to the mix. The kids are very active and involved in a wide range of activities, which means the afternoons in particular move quickly. We don't have local family support nearby, so the right person will become a genuine, trusted part of our daily rhythm. We take communication seriously, and we value openness and transparency in all directions.
A big part of what we're hoping to create with this role is a smoother, more enjoyable afternoon routine for everyone. With multiple sports and activities happening throughout the week, there are often overlapping schedules and lots of moving pieces to coordinate. We'd love to have someone who can help get the kids where they need to be, keep them moving through homework and chores, and make sure the household stays organized in the background. Having the right person in place will allow us to spend less time scrambling between logistics and more time enjoying our time together as a family.
Who You Are
The ideal candidate is someone who walks in the door and sees what needs to happen without being asked. You are calm in the middle of a busy afternoon, confident setting expectations with kids, and genuinely enjoy being around them. You don't do everything for the children, but you hold them accountable with warmth and patience. You're structured enough to keep the household running smoothly and flexible enough to adapt when the schedule shifts. You have real experience with kids and bring a presence that is steady, engaged, and fun. You understand the importance of rarely being on your phone when kids are present, you communicate proactively, and you take ownership of your space and responsibilities. You're comfortable sharing the home environment with an enthusiastic dog and can handle the unpredictability that comes with a full, active family.
You are also someone who enjoys being the person behind the scenes who makes a busy household feel easier. You can look at a full afternoon and quickly understand what needs to happen next, whether that means getting laundry started, grabbing groceries, resetting the kitchen, helping a child get ready for practice, or noticing a household task that needs attention. You don't need every task explained to you and take pride in being resourceful, dependable, and proactive. Most importantly, you're looking for a role where you can build trust with a family over time, become familiar with their routines and preferences, and genuinely make a positive difference in their day-to-day lives.
