Summary of the Job:
About This Role:
Process Analysis and Optimization
- End-to-End Process Performance:
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of electronic payment processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities using data-driven methodologies
- Process Health Monitoring: Establish and maintain continuous process monitoring capabilities including real-time dashboards, performance alerts, and proactive issue identification to ensure optimal process performance and early problem detection
- Process Performance Measurement: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators, process ROI, and business value metrics to demonstrate process effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities
Process Management
- Process Strategy & Roadmap Development: Partner with the Process Owner to develop and maintain process roadmaps aligned with business objectives, including multi-year process evolution plans, technology integration strategies, and capability development initiatives
- Process Portfolio Management: Manage the complete portfolio of electronic payment processes, identifying and prioritizing process improvement opportunities based on business value, customer impact, and strategic importance. Develop business cases and recommendations for process investments in partnership with the Process Owner
- Process Benchmarking & Innovation: Conduct regular benchmarking against industry standards and best practices, identifying and evaluating emerging technologies and innovations for competitive advantage
Process Design & Optimization
- Process Repository Management: Maintain comprehensive repository of updated standard operating procedures, workflow charts, and process documentation with version control and accessibility standards within the enterprise process management platform
- Process Analysis & Improvement: Examine end-to-end business processes to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, automation opportunities, and areas for enhancement using data-driven methodologies
- Process Design & Implementation: Create optimized workflows, design new or improved processes, and oversee successful integration of new technologies to streamline operations and enhance performance
Process Governance
- Governance Framework Management: Maintain comprehensive governance framework including process ownership, performance standards, decision rights, escalation paths, review cycles, and standardized documentation protocols in alignment with enterprise BPM standards
- Process Standards Enforcement: Ensure consistent adherence to established process standards across all teams and departments, including regular compliance assessments and corrective action implementation
- Process Exception Management: Establish and manage process exception handling procedures, including deviation approval authority, exception tracking, and trend analysis for continuous improvement opportunities
Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting
- Process Analytics: Analyze comprehensive data related to process performance, identify trends, measure process success, and provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making
- Executive Reporting: Provide regular process health reporting to senior leadership, including performance metrics, risk indicators, improvement initiatives, and strategic recommendations
- Performance Monitoring: Develop and maintain KPIs, performance dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to ensure continuous visibility into process effectiveness
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Change Management
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Product, Sales, IT, Risk, Data, Compliance, and Finance to ensure alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder needs
- Process Stakeholder Advocacy: Serve as primary advocate for process users and customers, ensuring their needs are represented in process design decisions and improvement initiatives
- Technical Implementation Partnership: Partner with Business Analysts to translate process requirements into technical specifications for vendor and IT implementations, ensuring system capabilities support process objectives.
- Change Management Excellence: Lead comprehensive change management processes including impact assessment, communication planning, training needs identification, implementation sequencing, and adoption measurement to ensure seamless transitions
Risk Management & Compliance
- Process Risk Assessment: Conduct regular comprehensive risk assessments of all electronic payment processes, including operational, regulatory, and strategic risks, with appropriate mitigation strategies
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure process adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices in electronic payments, including NACHA requirements and payment regulations
- Risk Platform Integration: Ensure process documentation and controls are properly integrated with risk management platforms (e.g., Archer) to maintain dynamic control updates and regulatory compliance alignment
- Audit & Control Support: Lead process-related audit activities, control testing, and remediation efforts in partnership with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit teams
Industry Leadership & Knowledge Management
- Industry Expertise: Stay current with industry resources, best practices, technologies, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in the electronic payments landscape
- Best Practice Implementation: Drive adoption of industry best practices and facilitate cross-organizational knowledge sharing and standardization initiatives
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 to 7 years of experience in electronic payments, banking operations or related field.
- Strong understanding of electronic payment processes, including ACH, wire transfers, BillPay, and digital payment platforms
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence and collaborate across various organizational levels
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, Agile)
Desired
- Experience in project management, production support, and/or system release management
- Experience with process management platforms (Signavio, Celonis, or similar BPM tools)
- Knowledge of process mining and process analytics methodologies
- Experience working within centralized governance frameworks while maintaining business unit accountability
- Professional certifications: Accredited ACH Professional (AAP), Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP), or Accredited Faster Payments Professional (AFPP)
- Advanced knowledge of NACHA requirements and payment regulations
- Technical proficiency with applications including ACH-Pep+, Wires-MTS, Disputes-Trips, Zelle-Compass, and FX Wires-Spectrum
- Experience with process automation technologies and digital transformation initiatives
- Advanced data analysis and visualization skills
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $63,288.00-$104,425.00
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
