Position Overview

The Materials Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the flow of materials to support production schedules within RF manufacturing operations. This role ensures timely availability of components, monitors inventory levels, and collaborates closely with purchasing, production, engineering, and quality teams. The Materials Planner plays a key role in maintaining on-time delivery performance and supporting efficient manufacturing processes for RF components and assemblies.

Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain material requirements plan based on sales forecasts, production schedules, and lead-time analysis.

· Monitor inventory levels and ensure an adequate supply of raw materials, electronic components, and RF-specific materials needed for production.

· Coordinate with the Purchasing Agent and procurement team to release purchase requisitions, follow up on open orders, and resolve shortages.

· Analyze MRP output to identify discrepancies, material constraints, and supply chain risks.

· Work with engineering and production teams to ensure smooth transitions for new product introductions, engineering changes, and revisions.

· Track supplier performance and collaborate on corrective actions related to late deliveries, quality issues, or material discrepancies.

· Maintain accurate data within the ERP/MRP system, including lead times, planning parameters, safety stock levels, and BOM data.

· Support cycle counting, inventory reconciliations, and root-cause analysis for material variances.

· Will be cross trained in Purchasing Planning to provide operational coverage and broaden supply chain capabilities.

· Prepare and distribute reports related to inventory status, material shortages, and production readiness. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase planning accuracy, optimize inventory, and support lean manufacturing activities.

Requirements

Qualifications

· Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred.  

· Experience: 2+ years of experience in materials planning or production planning in a manufacturing environment; experience with RF, electronics, aerospace, or precision manufacturing strongly preferred.

· Technical Skills: Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and material planning principles; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related analysis tools.

· Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify issues, and recommend solutions.

· Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multiple departments.

· Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
