We currently have an opportunity for a Materials Planner at our Corporate Headquarters in Lake Forest, IL.
Responsibilities
As a Materials Planner, you will provide materials planning expertise to ensure continuity of supply and alignment between material availability and production requirements. Coordinates with suppliers, Materials Management, Supply Planning, manufacturing facilities, and other Supply Chain partners to maintain reliable material flow and support production continuity. Analyzes material demand, usage, inventory, lead times, and delivery schedules to identify and communicate supply risks. Drives inventory optimization by balancing production requirements, service levels, and exposure to slow-moving and obsolete materials. Operates with independent judgment within established planning parameters and influences cross-functional partners to resolve supply constraints.

Materials Planning & Supply Continuity
- Reviews dependent demand and initiates procurement requirements to maintain continuity of raw material supply.
- Aligns material availability with production schedules to prevent manufacturing delays and support reliable production.
- Coordinates supplier lead times and delivery schedules to enable timely and accurate material deliveries.
- Analyzes material usage and version changes to identify potential supply risks and support effective run-out planning.
- Tracks material requirements and communicates emerging risks to appropriate Supply Chain and manufacturing partners.
Inventory Optimization
- Optimizes raw material inventory levels to support efficient production and strong case fill rates while minimizing slow-moving and obsolete inventory exposure.
Business Partnership
- Builds effective working relationships with internal and external partners to strengthen planning execution and supply continuity.
- Collaborates across Supply Chain and manufacturing functions to identify, analyze, and resolve material planning issues.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
- 2-4 years of related professional supply chain business experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and internal customers.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems logically and systematically.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.
