Data Engineering Manager

The Data Engineer is a full-time, dedicated resource supporting PetraTech, the firm's internal technology function, across recurring data integration, process automation, and our core data platform. The role builds, supports, and owns many of these processes end to end, supporting automations at various touchpoints within the firm. Location is open and fully remote, with a preference for candidates on the East Coast; availability during U.S. business hours is required.

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain automated daily data flows between many of our systems that feed into our core fund accounting platforms via API
• Support the automation of ongoing reconciliations between our document management platforms and our fund accounting systems, including extraction, processing, and booking of incoming records from various sources
• Set up and maintain automated daily API feeds from source systems into our portfolio and investment accounting platforms
• Support our core Snowflake data platform: pipeline development, data quality, and integration work as new source systems come online
• Design and maintain general SQL/Python-based process automation across a Microsoft 365 environment
• Own the outcome, not just the build: troubleshoot, maintain, and continuously improve these processes once in production

 

 

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics or equivalent. Master’s/PhD desirable but not required
• 4+ years professional experience in data science/data engineering/ML engineering
• Demonstrated experience utilizing SQL and Python
• Hands-on experience automating file and data transfer via SFTP and REST/API integration
• Comfortable working across a Microsoft 365 environment
• Snowflake exposure a plus, not required
• Financial services or fund administration experience a plus, not required
• Ability to work independently, owning a portfolio of production processes with limited supervision

 

 

 

Salary Range
At Petra Funds Group, we are committed to transparency and equity in our hiring practices. The compensation range for this position is $122,000- $183,000 per year. This range represents the base salary only. Actual pay will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills.
