The Wastewater Operator will support customers and the organization in operating industrial wastewater treatment systems. The Wastewater Operator plays a vital role in the facility's day-to-day operations and preventive maintenance. In addition to job-related tasks as assigned by management, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Key Responsibilities for the Wastewater Operator - 1
- Collect wastewater samples for process monitoring and compliance requirements
- Operate equipment, read gauges, meters, and record data
- Perform fundamental basic laboratory tasks
- Assist with maintenance, repairs, and tasks as needed
- Effectively utilize the MaintainX Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for task management
- Safely handle chemicals and adjust dosing per supervisor direction
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility, complete documentation, complete checklists, and escalate concerns as needed
- Utilize the SCADA system and make fundamental adjustments
- Participate in On-Call rotations after hours and on weekends with support from management as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Travel Expectations: Travel is not anticipated, but may be required periodically
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
- Valid driver’s license
- Good problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in wastewater
- Previous experience in maintaining industrial equipment
- Previous experience operating skid steer and forklift
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
- Hands-on experience with blowers, pumps, motors, and actuated valves, among others
- Ability to obtain Operator Certifications as specified by the local state requirements
