Summary:
The Wastewater Operator plays a critical role in supporting safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible wastewater treatment operations. This position is responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting wastewater treatment systems while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills to help maintain reliable plant operations and support environmental stewardship.
Responsibilities:
Our Wastewater Operator may be required to perform a variety of duties including but not limited to:
- Operation of wastewater analysis laboratory
- Operation and maintenance of wastewater collection system
- Operation and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment system
- Operation and maintenance of wastewater full treatment system or operation and maintenance of any other type of water or wastewater treatment system.
- Collecting samples for analysis in accordance with EPA state and or health departments regulations
- Performing a variety of chemical analysis both in and out of a laboratory setting
- Making system adjustments based on interpretation of results from chemical analysis
- Making educated decisions on maintaining regulatory compliance
- Performing mathematical calculations utilizing basic algebraic formulas and a calculator
- Completing computerized reports
- Compiling information and correctly completing monthly reports as required by permits state authority EPA or corporate management.
- Utilization of basic organizational skills basic mechanical skills basic electrical wiring skills
- Proper communication of current operational status to upper management
- Maintaining operations logs
- Performing minor to major maintenance on equipment
- Operation of a spotter tuck and or a forklift.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 1 plus years Maintenance/Wastewater experience preferred.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel.
- Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
- CERTIFICATION: Must successfully complete a storm water training program selected by site management within thirty days. Candidates must also successfully complete and obtain lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with State regulations. Candidates must also obtain the second highest grade certification through the state certification program or other entity within twenty-four months of completion of initial requirements or in accordance with State regulations.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physically lifting of heavy objects 30 pounds climbing and or descending stairs or ladders; grounds keeping; painting; general housekeeping; working in unsanitary conditions; working with hazardous chemicals.

• No written warning in the past six (6) months
• No suspension on record for the last 12 months
