Service Sales Engineer, IR

What you will do:

As a Service Sales Engineer, you will work at the intersection of field service and sales. You will engage with customers to understand plant condition, service needs, and performance expectations, then help shape service proposals, maintenance solutions, warranty support, and performance guarantees for industrial refrigeration systems. You will collaborate with sales, service, and project teams to deliver practical solutions that support long-term customer relationships and dependable system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding site priorities, service requirements, and long-term asset performance goals.
• Identify service opportunities through customer visits, plant audits, technical discussions, and review of operating conditions.
• Prepare and support proposals for service, maintenance, commissioning support, troubleshooting, overhaul, installation, and warranty repair activities.
• Collaborate with the sales team and buyers to develop and manage new or expanded performance guarantees for implemented or deployed products.
• Work with service engineers and internal stakeholders to scope work accurately, clarify technical needs, and ensure smooth handover from sale to execution.
• Review plant condition and translate field findings into clear recommendations, customer reports, and commercially sound actions.
• Monitor assigned customer activity and support consistency with contractual obligations, service commitments, and performance expectations.
• Coordinate with operations on smaller projects and service assignments to help deliver agreed outcomes on time and to quality standards.
• Communicate progress, findings, and next steps clearly with customers and internal teams throughout the sales and service process.

What we look for:

• Technical diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in industrial or process refrigeration service, service sales, technical sales support, commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, compressors, controls, and field service practices.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and documentation such as P&IDs, SLDs, and MCC diagrams.
• Experience preparing technical recommendations, service scopes, reports, or customer-facing presentations.
• Good customer communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of safe working practices in industrial environments.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work independently in the field.

Nice to Have

• Experience with ammonia single and double stage systems.
• Exposure to plant audits, performance guarantees, or warranty repair activities.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE standards, PLCs, DCS systems, relay-based controls, or compressor overhaul work.
• Familiarity with screw, centrifugal, or reciprocating compressors.
• Prior experience supporting service quotations or aftermarket sales in industrial refrigeration.
