Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading Back End Manufacturing Engineering activities to ensure stable production operations, high yield performance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement. This role will work closely with Production, Process, Equipment, Quality, and Maintenance teams to drive operational excellence, support business objectives, and develop engineering talent within the organization.
What You Need To Do
- Lead and manage Manufacturing Engineering activities within the Back End manufacturing environment.
- Drive yield improvement, productivity enhancement, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing KPIs such as Yield, OEE, Cycle Time, Throughput, and Equipment Utilization.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA), 8D, and corrective actions for manufacturing and process-related issues.
- Support process optimization and continuous improvement projects to improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with Process, Equipment, Production, Maintenance, and Quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing effectiveness.
- Manage engineering resources, manpower planning, performance reviews, and team development activities.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), technology transfer, and capacity expansion projects.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and company standards.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence initiatives.
- Prepare and present engineering reports, project updates, and performance reviews to management.
- Lead cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing stability, product quality, and operational efficiency.
- Develop succession plans and technical competency programs for engineering team members.
What You Need To Have
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor Back End manufacturing operations.
- Proven experience in manufacturing process improvement, yield enhancement, and productivity optimization.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in RCA, FMEA, 8D, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience in Assembly, Test, Packaging, Die Attach, Wire Bond, Molding, Singulation, Plating, Trim & Form, or related Back End manufacturing processes would be an added advantage.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in Semiconductor, Electronics Manufacturing, or High-Volume Manufacturing environments.
- Minimum 3 years of people management or leadership experience.
- Experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Production Engineering, or related functions.
- Willing to support manufacturing operations as required.
