Head of Category Construction

To accelerate the growth of our Construction category, we are looking for a commercially driven and market-savvy Head of Category Construction who combines deep industry- and machine expertise with strong leadership capabilities.

What is your role? 

As Head of Category Construction, you will be responsible for defining and executing the growth strategy for the Construction category at Kramp. You will identify opportunities, build strategic supplier partnerships, create a compelling assortment, and work with the country teams to grow our business. 

Unlike some of our more established categories, Construction is still in a growth phase. This means you have the opportunity to influence strategy, build capabilities, and help shape the future direction of the category. 

You will lead the construction & buying team and play a key role in developing category and buying capabilities within the organization. You will report to the VP Category&Buying.
 

Your key responsibilities 

• Identify industry trends, competitive developments, and growth opportunities. 

• Define and execute the category strategy for Construction. 

• Drive mid- and long-term category growth across our international markets. 

• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers. 

• Lead commercial negotiations and supplier management activities. 

• Expand and optimize the assortment based on customer needs and market opportunities. 

• Coach and develop category and buying professionals. 

• Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Data and Product teams. 

• Monitor category performance and continuously optimize results.
   

Who are you? 

You are an experienced category, procurement, or commercial professional with a strong background within the construction industry with a strong knowledge of earthmoving machines. 

You understand how the market works, know the key players, and are comfortable building relationships with suppliers and manufacturers. 

You combine strategic thinking with a hands-on mindset and enjoy developing both people and businesses. 
 

Who are you?

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field. 

• 10+ years of experience in Category Management, Procurement or Commercial Management. 

• Proven experience within the Construction, Earthmoving, or Equipment industry. 

• Experience working with leading brands or market players. 

• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills. 

• Experience leading and coaching a team. 

• A track record of driving commercial growth and category development. 

• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
