Role summary:
The Manager, Material Handling Equipment Service, leads vendor and contract management to ensure operational excellence and compliance with quality standards. This role oversees procurement, budgeting, and supplier performance while driving continuous improvement in service delivery. The position requires strong business acumen, data-driven decision-making, and effective collaboration across teams to resolve issues and optimize equipment reliability. The manager also supports change initiatives and crisis management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements to maintain efficient and safe operations within the material handling equipment service function.
About the team:
The Automation Center of Excellence (COE) leads the management and enhancement of Grocery automation platforms, including Witron and Swisslog. This team collaborates with Operations, Engineering, and vendors to optimize system performance, reduce downtime, and ensure scalable execution. They establish maintenance standards, oversee vendor governance, and drive continuous improvement by transforming reactive processes into data-driven operations. With strong technical expertise and cross-functional leadership, the COE delivers reliable systems and clear accountability, enabling the Grocery automation network to operate efficiently with resilience and readiness.
What you'll do:

• Manage vendor relationships by evaluating performance, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with quality standards and contractual obligations.
• Oversee contract administration, including review, documentation, and adherence to organizational protocols.
• Support procurement activities by coordinating with suppliers and ensuring proper documentation and approval processes.
• Develop and manage budgets, analyze variances, and prepare expense reports using preferred tools.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying process improvements, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting standard operating procedures.
• Utilize data analysis to inform decisions, monitor equipment performance, and recommend technical solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align business needs and facilitate effective communication.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in vendor and contract management, including evaluating, selecting, and monitoring supplier performance.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets, analyze variances, and prepare expense reports.
• Expertise in operational excellence, including identifying safety hazards and implementing standard operating procedures.
• Proficiency in data analysis and leveraging insights to influence strategic decisions.
• Effective communication skills to present complex information clearly and influence stakeholders.
• Ability to lead change management initiatives and drive continuous process improvements.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
