Technical Product Owner – Test Automation Platform 100% (f/m/d)

At Julius Baer, we celebrate and value the individual qualities you bring, enabling you to be impactful, to be entrepreneurial, to be empowered, and to create value beyond wealth. Let’s shape the future of wealth management together.

At Julius Baer, we enable our teams to live DevOps practices day in and day out. A key part of this mission is providing a modern engineering platform that helps teams build, test, release, deploy, operate, and monitor software securely and efficiently.
We are looking for a Technical Product Owner – Test Automation Platform to own and evolve a platform that enables development teams across the bank to deliver high-quality software faster and with greater confidence.
This role combines product ownership and hands-on engineering. Working in a small team with three platform engineers, you will collaboratively define the product direction, prioritize development based on user value, guide technical decisions, and actively contribute to solution design and implementation.

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the bank’s global test automation platform.
• Lead the platform lifecycle from discovery and design to delivery, operation, and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with development teams to understand their needs and translate them into valuable platform capabilities.
• Advance testing-as-code through an API-first platform with seamless CI/CD integration.
• Provide technical leadership and guide architecture, technology choices, and engineering practices.
• Contribute hands-on to implementation, code reviews, troubleshooting, and platform operations.
• Champion developer experience and drive self-service capabilities for test data generation, test execution, and reporting.
• Track platform adoption, reliability, usability, and developer satisfaction.

YOUR PROFILE

• Experience in a role combining product ownership with technical leadership, such as Technical Product Owner, Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or Senior Platform Engineer.
• Strong software or platform engineering background, ideally with Java, TypeScript, or comparable technologies.
• Experience building, operating, or extending test automation solutions, engineering platforms, or developer tooling.
• Hands-on experience with performance, functional, or end-to-end testing and tools such as Playwright, k6, Selenium, or similar.
• Experience integrating testing solutions with CI/CD platforms, particularly GitLab and integrating test results with reporting or ticketing platforms such as Jira is an advantage.
• Knowledge of APIs, automation, cloud-native technologies, and modern software engineering practices.

What Helps You Succeed in This Role

• You combine a product mindset with strong technical expertise and hands-on engineering skills.
• You enjoy taking end-to-end ownership and turning ideas into measurable outcomes.
• You are comfortable moving between product strategy, stakeholder discussions, architecture, and implementation.
• You proactively identify opportunities for improvement and turn them into practical solutions.
• You communicate effectively and align engineers, users, and stakeholders around a shared direction.
• You thrive in a small team where everyone contributes to product success and technical delivery.
