Architectural Project Manager – Retail

We’re looking for an Architectural Project Manager based in the Vancouver area to support projects throughout BC, Alberta and west US. This is a fully remote position, giving you the flexibility to work from home while providing local construction administration and site support for projects in the region.

You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams across North America while serving as the local project lead for clients, consultants, and contractors.

The Role

As the Architectural Project Manager, you’ll lead multiple retail projects from concept through construction completion, taking ownership of project delivery, schedules, budgets, and client relationships.

You’ll be the primary point of contact for your projects, coordinating consultants, contractors, and internal teams while ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high technical standard.

You’ll work closely with experienced production teams across company offices who will support drawing production and technical delivery.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, is comfortable making decisions, and understands that projects evolve throughout the design and construction process.

What You’ll Do

• Lead multiple projects from concept through construction administration and close-out
• Manage project schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and overall financial performance
• Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare fee proposals for existing clients
• Coordinate internal project teams and external consultants, including structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil disciplines
• Provide project-level technical oversight and QA/QC reviews
• Coordinate permitting, municipal approvals, and regulatory submissions
• Lead construction administration, including RFIs, shop drawings, site reviews, ASIs, punch lists, and project close-out
• Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes and regulatory requirements across Canadian and U.S. jurisdictions
• Travel approximately once per month (typically 1-4 days) throughout BC, Alberta for client meetings and construction site visits

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of architectural experience with project management responsibilities
• Strong retail project experience
• Demonstrated experience managing projects through design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration
• Excellent Construction Administration skills with confidence working independently in the field
• Strong understanding of project financial management, scheduling, and consultant coordination
• Working knowledge of British Columbia building codes and permitting processes
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
• Excellent communication, organization, and client management skills
• Comfortable working remotely while collaborating with teams across multiple locations
• Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt as project priorities evolve

 

• Salary: $110,000-$130,000 + Bonus + 5 weeks vacation + RRSP
• Fully remote | Vancouver based
