Team Lead, Product Management

We are seeking an experienced and highly driven Team Lead, Product Management to join our Digital Merchant Solutions team at RHB Banking Group. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for driving the successful execution of the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and delivering innovative, customer-centric digital payment solutions for merchants. You will lead a team of Product Managers, oversee product innovation initiatives, collaborate across multiple functions, and support the Head of Digital Merchant Solutions in advancing the Bank's digital merchant solutions strategy.

What you will be doing

Product & Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Product Managers by setting clear goals, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations to drive individual and team success.
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture by encouraging knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and the adoption of product management best practices.
• Manage team resources, workload allocation, and prioritization of initiatives to ensure optimal execution of strategic objectives and product roadmaps.
• Build and strengthen product management capabilities across the team through coaching, training, and professional development initiatives.

Product Innovation & Market Intelligence

• Drive the product innovation agenda by leveraging market research, competitive analysis, customer insights, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Establish frameworks for product ideation, evaluation, prioritization, and execution to ensure focus on high-impact strategic initiatives.
• Champion customer-centric product development by incorporating merchant feedback, market demands, and user experience considerations into product enhancements and new solutions.
• Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and emerging payment technologies to ensure the Bank remains at the forefront of digital merchant solutions.

Portfolio Management & Strategic Execution

• Oversee the end-to-end management of the digital merchant solutions product portfolio, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
• Drive the successful execution of product initiatives from concept through implementation, commercialization, and ongoing enhancement.
• Monitor product performance, portfolio health, and key business metrics, recommending strategic improvements where necessary.
• Provide strategic recommendations and insights to support the continued growth and competitiveness of the Bank's digital payment offerings.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Technology, Operations, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, Risk, and other stakeholders to deliver product initiatives effectively.
• Act as the primary escalation point for product-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and effective stakeholder communication.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships across business units and external partners to support successful product execution.
• Present product portfolio updates, strategic recommendations, business cases, and performance reports to senior management, including the Head of Digital Merchant Solutions and GTB leadership.

Process Excellence & Governance

• Establish and maintain product management standards, governance frameworks, and operational processes to ensure consistency, quality, and effective execution across all product initiatives.
• Review and approve Product and System Operational Processes, governance documentation, project deliverables, and related operational materials prepared by the team.
• Drive continuous improvements in product management methodologies, controls, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and governance practices are maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure all products, services, and merchant solutions comply with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Maintain strong awareness of regulations and guidelines issued by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), PayNet, and other relevant authorities.
• Proactively assess regulatory changes and market developments, ensuring products remain compliant and competitive.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to identify, mitigate, and manage risks associated with product offerings and initiatives.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Information Technology, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7-10 years of experience in product management, digital payments, transaction banking, merchant acquiring, fintech, or related financial services environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing product management teams.
• Strong knowledge of digital payment ecosystems, merchant acquiring solutions, payment technologies, and emerging fintech trends.
• Demonstrated experience in product strategy, roadmap development, product commercialization, and portfolio management.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate insights into actionable business initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Technology, Operations, Compliance, Risk, and Business teams.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to the payments and banking industry.
• Results-oriented, customer-focused, and passionate about delivering innovative digital solutions that create value for merchants and clients.
