Position Purpose Summary:
The Christmas Kettle Campaign Coordinator work is focused on ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the Kettle Campaign, maximizing volunteers and donations and ensuring competent and compliant Kettle Coverage for all areas.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incumbent may perform all, some, or similar range of duties as below.
- Attend training & orientation on The Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign & Salesforce
- Review the Kettle Playbook
- Coordinate Kettle deliveries to locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset
- Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion. Coordinate kettle counting volunteers, ensuring kettles are counted daily
- Record kettle revenues daily in the online Kettle system
- Troubleshoot Tip Tap issues
- Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to Administration
- Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required
- Supervise, support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign
- Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers
- Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently
- Submit timesheets and mileage reports accurately and timely (bi-weekly basis)
• Respond to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs
- Most duties performed outside regular office hours
- Co-ordinate & attend special event kettle locations
- After the campaign:
- Retrieve, pack up & place in storage all equipment from various kettle locations
- Package and ship the return of Tip Taps
- follow up with contacts at Kettle locations and prepare thank you letters
- prepare an overall report on the campaign to be submitted to the Officer
- Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner

- Some high school coursework, completion of high school is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle -required
- Driver’s Abstract that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion -required

Experience:
• A minimum of one year of related experience or working in customer service
• Money handling experience is an asset
• Related experience is an asset

- Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures

- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational information.
- Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $18.25 to $22.23 with a maximum of $26.20.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
