Job Description:
A SEASONAL TERM CONTRACT position to coordinate the 2026 CHILLIWACK Christmas kettle campaign and ensure the smooth running of the campaign, maximizing donations and coordinating the staffing of employees and volunteers at the kettles.
Accountabilities:
WORKS WITH A SMALL TEAM, COORDINATORING ALL ASPECTS OF THE CHRISTMAS KETTLE FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN:
- Awareness & compliance with Chilliwack Policies & Procedures
- Is able to work in adherence to the Salvation Army’s Mission and Values
- Must have basic computer knowledge and word processing and excel skills
- Promotes the campaign through community presence, social media, phone calls, etc.
- Strengthens relationships with management and leadership at all kettle locations and is responsible to act as a liaison, providing supports as needed
- Recruits, trains, and schedules and supports kettle workers and volunteers
- Ensures all kettles and supplies are maintained at all locations and at all times
- Works with a list of volunteers, clubs, churches and businesses to assist in filling volunteer positions
- Provides post campaign support to ensure transition to future campaigns
- Ensures donors, volunteers, workers and all partnerships are thanked and invitations are given to appreciation events, and
- Performs other duties assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Christmas 2026 Kettle Coordinator will work under the following disagreeable conditions:
Dealing with: Frequent interruptions and multi-tasking Last minute changes for attendance at Kettles Equipment and general office noise (i.e. people talking, phones ringing)
The employee may be possible to be exposed to the risk of minor to moderate injury of illnesses due to: Verbally abusive people Dealing with angry people Physical attacks by others Other dangerous situations.
The incumbent must take the following precautionary measures (in addition to health & safety rules):
Universal precautions Use of hand sanitizer Criminal Police Investigation Check (CPIC) must have a police security clearance certificate Communicable disease awareness.

Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Completion of High School diploma.
- Alternative combination of education and experience might be considered
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements
- Experience in customer service/care is an asset.
- Comfortable using Microsoft/computer programs.

- She/he will be responsible to the Chilliwack Corps Officer in matters of job performance, policy, special requests, or other concerns that will arise. The performance of the job requires continuous monitoring of the environment and attentiveness to working safely.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $18.25 to $22.23 with a maximum of $26.20.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
