2nd Shift: Monday- Friday 1:30pm - 10:30pm
3rd Shift: Monday- Friday 10:00pm - 6:30am
*Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekend & some holidays) *

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance activities and leading a team of multi-craft Automation Maintenance Technicians within an automotive robotic welding and assembly environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, safe operation, and timely support for production needs.
The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair work on robotic welding and assembly equipment, automation, support equipment, and facility systems. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and partners closely with Production, Tool & Die, Quality, Engineering, and EHS to achieve plant goals related to safety, uptime, quality, and cost.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise daily maintenance operations, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation issues on robotic welding and assembly systems and related equipment.
- Assign, coordinate, and monitor maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion and accurate documentation.
- Support and enforce preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment breakdowns and provide hands-on support when necessary.
- Ensure technicians follow safe work practices, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and proper use of PPE.
- Collaborate with Production to plan maintenance activities around production schedules and minimize disruptions.
- Review and update maintenance procedures, standard work, and work instructions to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to Maintenance Technicians; support training and skills development.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs such as downtime, PM completion rate, MTTR, MTBF, and spare parts usage.
- Communicate equipment issues and improvement opportunities to the Maintenance Manager, Engineering, Tool & Die, and other departments.
- Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new equipment, automation, and tooling.
- Partner with Tool & Die on weld fixture and tooling maintenance needs, tooling issues, and robotic welding and assembly equipment performance while maintaining accurate equipment logs, PM records, spare parts documentation, and CMMS records.
- Assist in vendor management, service coordination, and parts ordering as needed.
- Support facility maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety systems, and building repairs.
- Participate in safety investigations, root-cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Ability to take direction, accept coaching, and act positively to improve performance.
- Ensure all environmental practices are in line with job scope and position. Examples include proper waste disposal practices, reporting spills and permit noncompliance, and addressing improper practices.
- Ensure all human resources, ethics, and labor policies and practices are carried out in accordance with company policy and the scope of the position. ISO / ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS) RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the resources needed for the environmental management system are available.
- Communicate the importance of effective environmental management and conforming to environmental management system requirements.
- Ensure that the environmental management system achieves its intended outcomes.
- Direct and support persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the environmental management system.
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing required; automotive robotic welding and assembly experience strongly preferred.
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience required.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with robotic welding and assembly equipment, automation systems, and industrial controls.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality systems and automotive industry requirements.
GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with maintenance staff, supervisors, operators, vendors, and leadership.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate maintenance documentation and prioritize work assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Must be a proactive leader with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to motivate and develop a high-performing maintenance team.
SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with CMMS systems preferred; ability to create and close work orders, track PMs, and maintain records.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to learn new maintenance and manufacturing software systems quickly.
- Strong keyboarding and documentation accuracy.
