Description
We are seeking a highly capable Medical Officer to work in the Department of Plastics
The role will assist in consultation, pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care of patients within the
hospital. To ensure success, medical officers should exhibit extensive clinical knowledge and
demonstrable experience in a similar role. The medical officer should be interested in developing
experience in Plastic Surgery.
Medical Officer Responsibilities:
- Contributing clinical expertise to patient care and providing guidance to nursing staff.
- Ensuring the highest standards in patient care are maintained.
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards.
- Ensuring consistent and accurate medical record-keeping practices.
- Inpatients: Pre op, intra op, post-op op and regular reviews of patients
- Outpatients: Assists in preparing for clinics, consulting with patients/caregivers
- Operating Theatre: Assisting in operations and performing procedures under supervision.
- Mobile clinics: Joins teams on mobile clinics for patient triaging.
- Continued learning: Keeping informed on advancements in the field and contributing to
- medical research programs.
- Administration: Reporting to senior management, as well as liaising between the administrative
- and medical staff. Performing administrative duties
- Clinical Governance: Participates in Morbidity and Mortality meetings, Quality Improvement
- Projects and Audit
- Bachelor's degree in medicine.
- Successful completion of the internship
- Some surgical experience is an advantage
