About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Event Manager to join our BOQ Group Marketing & Events team, leading the delivery of a national portfolio of sponsorships, activations and events that enhance our brand, strengthen relationships and drive business growth. Based in Brisbane, this is a 12-month maximum term opportunity to make a visible impact across one of Australia's most trusted banking groups.
In this role, you'll take ownership of the end-to-end planning, management and delivery of a diverse events portfolio, including conferences, industry events, sponsorship activations, trade exhibitions, broker events and bespoke client experiences. Partnering closely with senior leaders across the Business Bank and the Group, you'll develop event strategies that support commercial objectives, customer engagement and lead generation while ensuring every experience is delivered to the highest standard.
You'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage logistics, communications, suppliers, agencies and sponsorship partners while maintaining strong governance, budget oversight and performance reporting. Success in this role will come from your ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, identify opportunities to maximise return on investment, and create memorable experiences that deliver measurable outcomes for the business.

About You
You're a highly organised and commercially minded events professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves bringing people together through exceptional experiences. You have a proven track record of delivering successful events, sponsorships and activations, while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
You bring strong project management capabilities and can confidently manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You're comfortable engaging with senior leaders, providing strategic recommendations and influencing outcomes through your communication and relationship-building skills. You have experience managing budgets, tracking event performance and using data and insights to improve future activity and demonstrate return on investment.
You'll be an energetic and organised events professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional experiences and achieving great outcomes. You're a positive team player, enjoy working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders and bring a can-do attitude to everything you do. Highly organised and detail-oriented, you're comfortable juggling competing priorities, solving problems and finding opportunities to continuously improve. Previous experience in financial services isn't required. Instead, we're looking for someone with strong event management capability, a customer-focused mindset and the enthusiasm to learn, contribute and make an impact. You'll also be confident using Microsoft Office and leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
