Assistant Manager/Specialist - Mineral Sourcing & Logistics - (Onsite | PKR Salary | Karachi/Islamabad)

Hiring for our client dealing in mineral sourcing and logistics across Pakistan!

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly capable, field-experienced professional to manage the end-to-end sourcing, quality inspection and logistics of Bauxite ore and other industrial minerals across Punjab and KP. The role is the critical link between mine-site operations, quality compliance, supplier management and reliable heavytrucking logistics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mineral Sourcing

Identify, evaluate and develop relationships with local mining concessionaires, mine owners and suppliers.
Manage sourcing activities across the Salt Range (Khushab) and Hazara mining clusters (Abbottabad, Haripur and Havelian).
Negotiate commercial terms, supply arrangements and local procurement requirements while protecting quality and continuity of supply.

Mine-Site Inspection & Quality Control

Conduct hands-on physical inspection of Bauxite ore at the mine mouth before loading.
Assess ore quality, grade, visible impurities, moisture and physical characteristics against approved specifications.
Coordinate mine-mouth sampling, segregation and pre-dispatch checks to minimize off-spec material and contamination.

Logistics & Trucking Management

Coordinate daily heavy trucking, tipper dispatches, loading schedules and delivery movements.
Manage local freight rates, transporter relationships, route planning and vehicle availability.
Monitor routes across regional motorways/highways and proactively resolve loading, transit and delivery issues.

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure mineral dispatches comply with applicable provincial and local regulatory requirements.
Verify mining department documentation, royalty/rawana passes, weighment records and other dispatch paperwork.
Monitor compliance with weight restrictions and environmental/regulatory check-post requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education
Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Supply Chain, or a related industrial discipline.

Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in mineral sourcing, quarry logistics or field quality control within mining, cement or heavy industrial / metal industries.

Technical Knowledge Languages
Strong understanding of Bauxite ore characteristics, mine-mouth inspection and sampling methodologies, quality parameters, impurity control and regional trucking/freight dynamics in Northern Pakistan.

Languages
Fluent professional communication in English, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi, with the ability to engage effectively with corporate stakeholders, transporters, drivers, mine owners and regional labor.

Mobility
Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively to remote mine sites and mining clusters.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
A practical, hands-on professional who is equally comfortable at a mine site, negotiating with suppliers, inspecting ore, coordinating trucks and resolving field-level operational issues. The successful candidate will combine commercial judgment, technical mineral knowledge, strong local stakeholder management and a high level of ownership.
