Reporting to - Senior Manager, Product Management (based in Shanghai)
Work Timing - Flexible. Weekly late-evening meetings once a week with teams based in Akron, Goodyear’s Global HQ.
Position Overview
The Regional Product Management role is responsible for driving product portfolio effectiveness across India market. The role will support product introductions, portfolio optimization, market-back analytics, regional planning, and sales enablement while ensuring alignment between global product strategies and local market requirements.
The position will work closely with Product Portfolio, Marketing, Sales and global teams to ensure the right products are introduced, supported, and managed throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Execute Regional Product Management Activities
Product Authorization:
- Support the definition of what, when and how products will be introduced in assigned markets. Manage the stock keeping unit (SKU) introduction process to maintain a simpler, superior and efficient portfolio. Oversee sales code creation and support phase In/phase out activities.
Range Sufficiency:
- Use data-driven and market-back analytics to identify coverage gaps within the existing portfolio for assigned markets and propose solutions.
Portfolio Simplification and Rationalization:
- Implement simplification actions to reduce portfolio complexity and help increase the share of flagship products, in alignment with direction provided by the regional Product Portfolio Manager.
Coordinate Product Inputs for Regional Planning Cycles
Monthly Product Review:
- Prepare materials, coordinate inputs and facilitate discussions for the monthly session for the assigned region. Engage with cross-functional partners to align on actions and follow through. Work with global teams to maintain consistency between global and regional product approaches.
Annual Operating Plan (AOP) Support:
- Translate global innovation priorities into local implications by providing assumptions and input on product related business growth for assigned markets.
Long-Term/Long-Range (LRP) Planning:
- Contribute data analytics (including roadmap insights, forecasts and business assessments) to support corporate long-term planning cycles for assigned clusters.
Enable Regional Sales Teams:
- Ensure Sales teams have the right product knowledge, value propositions and supporting content to effectively position products with customers.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Training and Sales Enablement teams to provide tools and up-to-date information.
Experience
10+ years experience in Product Management, Portfolio Management, Category Management, Marketing, Commercial Planning, or a related function, preferably within the automotive, tyre, or consumer/industrial products sector.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate market and business data into actionable recommendations.
Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, portfolio optimization, and commercial planning.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with business intelligence and data analytics tools is an advantage.
