Description
The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a patient-centered, team based multi-specialty practice that has a full-time opportunity available for a Registered Nurse in central Brooklyn. BSFHC has been providing affordable, comprehensive, outpatient medical and dental services in an outpatient setting for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), BSFHC serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. Our mission is to provide the most professional, courteous and highest quality health care, with dignity, to those we serve, especially the undeserved population, without regard for ability to pay.
We are seeking a RN Charged Nurse to join our team. The Nurse is responsible for efficiency in productivity, management and quality assurance of all clinical services including training, supervision and scheduling of LPNs and medical assistants. This position is a part of the organization’s Leadership Team and supports the delivery of services and will work closely with a team of professionals to provide culturally sensitive, high quality, comprehensive health services to the community to achieve expected outcomes and comply with BSFHC Mission.
Our staff nurses handle injections, vaccines, forms, patient communications such as refill requests, pt education, and intake for walk in patients. They will also be expected to rotate to other departments such as pediatrics and OBGYN. They do not need to be experienced in both but one or the other would be preferential. The schedule will also be 35 hours, with rotations to weekends, and the evening shift of 11-7 on Thursdays.
Education, Licenses and/or Certifications, Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Nurse Practitioner Degree Preferred
- Valid RN/NP License in New York State
- Hospital or Clinic and Supervisory Experience a Must
- Experience working in community-based health care settings a plus
- EMR Experience - eClinical Works preferred.
- The ability to demonstrate teamwork, leadership and effective interpersonal relations skills are imperative.
- Ability to foster and maintain a positive working relationship in a multidisciplinary team and clients
