Overview
The Finance Manager will oversee all financial operations across Greater China. This role requires a strategic leader who ensures the accuracy of financial reporting, acts as the key liaison for all audit and legal compliance matters. The ideal candidate combines deep logistics industry knowledge with the rigor of an audit-trained professional to safeguard the company's assets and ensure statutory adherence.
Responsibilities
Budgeting & Forecasting: Drive the regional budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing variance analysis and strategic insights to senior management to support business growth .
Performance Analysis: Prepare detailed management reports highlighting KPIs, financial risks, and opportunities, specifically analyzing profitability by trade lane or product (air/ocean freight) .
Statutory Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors. Coordinate the preparation of audited financial statements and ensure all audit queries are resolved within strict deadlines across the region.
Internal Control: Establish, document, and maintain robust internal financial controls. Ensure compliance with group policies, including revenue recognition, intercompany reconciliations, and balance sheet controls .
Process Improvement: Lead finance transformation initiatives to enhance data visibility and efficiency, often involving ERP system implementations (e.g., CargoWise) .
Statutory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with regional tax laws, including GST/VAT, TDS, customs duties, and corporate income tax filings. Manage relationships with tax authorities and advisors.
Regulatory Watch: Monitor changes in local accounting standards, customs regulations, and corporate laws across the region, advising the business on necessary adjustments to remain compliant .
Intercompany Governance: Oversee intercompany transactions and fund flow arrangements, ensuring proper legal documentation and transfer pricing compliance .
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor local finance teams and outsourced service providers, fostering a culture of accuracy and compliance.
Cash Flow & Credit Control: Implement strategies to manage working capital, reduce overdue receivables, and optimize cash flow across the region .
Qualifications
Educational Background
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
Professional Certification is mandatory: Qualified Accountant (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA) .
Professional Experience
Experience Level: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
Industry Specifics: At least 3-5 years of experience in the freight forwarding or 3PL logistics industry is mandatory .
Regional Role: Proven experience in a regional or multi-country role, managing diverse teams and statutory requirements.
Core Competencies
Audit Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing statutory, internal, and tax audits from planning to finalization. "Big 4" audit firm background is highly desirable.
Legal Acumen: Strong understanding of corporate law fundamentals, tax compliance obligations, and ability to review contracts for financial risk .
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with CargoWise, Oracle, or SAP is a distinct advantage) and advanced Excel .
Language: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional regional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Cantonese) is a strong plus for regional roles in Asia.

Problem-Solving Mindset: Ability to resolve disputes related to intercompany transactions and audit findings effectively .
