Together, we leverage data, community alliances, services, and public engagement to transform Central Texas, responding to urgent needs with lasting, impactful solutions.

Who we want:

The Data and Evaluation Senior Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for advancing United Way for Greater Austin’s data, measurement, learning and evaluation functions across programs, initiatives, coalitions, and community partnerships. This role leads the development of measurement frameworks, evaluation strategies, and learning processes that strengthen organizational effectiveness and community impact. The Senior Manager independently leads complex projects from conception through implementation, translating data into actionable insights that inform decision-making, improve performance, and demonstrate impact. Working collaboratively across departments and with external partners, this role fosters a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and evidence-informed decision-making. • Highly independent and accountable: You take ownership of complex initiatives and move projects forward with minimal direction. You proactively identify challenges and opportunities, develop solutions, and consistently deliver high-quality results.
  • Analytical and intellectually curious: You enjoy exploring questions, identifying patterns, and translating complex information into meaningful insights that support action and learning.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented: You enjoy working with data and take pride in ensuring information is accurate, reliable, and actionable.
  • Trusted thought partner: You effectively advise colleagues, leaders, and partners on evaluation approaches, performance measurement, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented: You build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders and effectively facilitate conversations that help teams learn, improve, and achieve shared goals.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and assist in planning, development, monitoring, and evaluation of data and learning strategies across programs, coalitions, community initiatives, and grants.
  • Design and manage evaluation frameworks, performance measures, logic models, and learning agendas that assess effectiveness and support continuous improvement.
  • Independently lead complex data and evaluation projects from inception through implementation and on-going monitoring.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to identify actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Provide technical leadership, developing sustainable systems for data extraction and transformation. Develop and maintain technical documentation for the organization’s data infrastructure.
  • Facilitate learning conversations with staff, partners, and stakeholders to drive data informed decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Serve as an internal thought partner to program staff, helping translate strategic questions into effective measurement and evaluation approaches.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee dashboards and reporting systems that inform program and organizational decision-making.
  • Create reports, presentations, and data visualizations that clearly communicate needs, program outcomes, trends, and strategic opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain data management systems, databases, surveys, and reporting processes to ensure data quality, integrity, security, and accessibility.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data-related challenges and develop sustainable solutions.
  • Support grant applications, funder reporting, and organizational communications through data analysis and impact reporting.
  • Research and analyze community-level trends and indicators to inform strategic planning and organizational priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, community partners, funders, and external stakeholders.
  • Support HIPAA and FERPA -compliant data governance practices, policies, and procedures. Develop policies and procedures related to data management best practices for internal staff and team members.
  • Oversee relevant software licensing, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with the Data and Evaluation team on projects that support the organization’s mission.

What you’ll bring:
