Job Title: Data Analytics Manager – India
Purpose
The Data Analytics Manager – India leads the India-based Analytics team supporting Global Business Services (GBS), delivering strategic insights, reporting, advanced analytics, and decision-support capabilities for global stakeholders. Serving as both a people leader and hands-on analytics expert, this role develops team capability while personally leading complex, high-impact analytical initiatives that drive business performance, enable fact-based decision-making, and advance continuous improvement across the organization.
Major Duties/ Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Senior Data Analysts within the India COE, setting objectives, performance expectations, development plans, succession strategies, and a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Allocate and optimize analytics resources across global priorities, balancing workload and capacity while providing stretch assignments that build skills, broaden experience, and strengthen succession readiness, while retaining ownership of key strategic initiatives.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, training, and development activities while promoting knowledge sharing, standard methodologies, and consistent analytical practices across the global analytics organization.
- Lead and actively contribute to complex analytical initiatives, personally delivering high-impact insights on strategic, cross-functional, and executive-level projects.
- Partner with stakeholders to define analytical requirements and develop data-driven recommendations, translating complex data into actionable insights through effective storytelling and visualization.
- Oversee ad-hoc analysis, custom reporting, benchmarking studies, and special projects.
- Lead the development of advanced analytical models for priority initiatives, identifying opportunities, trends, risks, and operational improvements while mentoring team members.
- Support category planning, sourcing strategies, supplier evaluations, RFx events, and procurement initiatives through data-driven analysis and decision support.
- Evaluate supplier proposals, pricing structures, commercial models, and bid scenarios, supporting TCO, baseline cost modelling, should-cost analysis, and optimization initiatives.
- Establish analytical standards, evaluation methodologies, and quality controls for sourcing activities and analytics deliverables.
- Partner with sourcing teams to support supplier negotiations and fact-based decision making.
- Lead the design and enhancement of reporting solutions, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI frameworks that support departmental and organizational objectives.
- Ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and data governance while delivering executive and leadership reporting through insightful metrics and performance analysis.
- Drive automation and continuous improvement by partnering with Federated Automation and AI teams to implement low-code, no-code, AI-enabled, and advanced analytics solutions.
- Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, stakeholder experience, and adoption of modern reporting and analytics technologies.
- Share best practices and drive continuous improvement across analytics processes and capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor and senior analytical subject matter expert, providing recommendations and hands-on support for business challenges, sourcing activities, and executive requests.
- Support strategic initiatives through analytical modelling, business case development, scenario planning, and performance measurement.
- Communicate risks, opportunities, and business impacts to stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Represent the Planning & Analytics function in cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects.
Decision Making:
- Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders across GS&P, Workplace Services, Global Continuous Improvement, and other GBS functions.
- Act as a trusted advisor by providing analytical expertise and objective, data-driven recommendations.
- Support strategic initiatives through analytical modelling, business case development, scenario planning, and performance measurement.
- Communicate risks, opportunities, and business impacts to stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Represent the Planning & Analytics function in cross-functional initiatives and strategic projects.
Span of Control (Direct/Indirect reports):
- Directly manages Senior Data Analysts within the India Analytics COE.
- Responsible for team performance, development, coaching, and workload management.
- Allocates resources and prioritizes analytics activities across global stakeholder groups.
- Oversee associates and analysts supporting reporting, analytics, continuous improvement, and automation initiatives.
- Leads cross-functional projects and influences business partners without direct reporting relationships.
- Partners with global Planning & Analytics leadership to align capabilities, standards, and service delivery.
Scope of Responsibility (Financial impact):
- Accountable for the delivery and performance of the India Analytics COE.
- Supports analytics services across Global Sourcing & Procurement, Workplace Services, Global Continuous Improvement, and broader GBS functions.
- Drives analytical support and insights that influence business decisions across more than USD $8B of non-merchandise spend.
- Supports strategic initiatives, supplier evaluations, business transformation efforts, and performance management activities.
- Responsible for building scalable analytics capabilities and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality analytics services.
Skills/Knowledge:
- Strong people leadership, coaching, mentoring, and talent development capabilities.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert complex data into actionable business insights.
- Expertise in reporting, dashboard development, business intelligence, and data visualization.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Query, PowerPoint, and broader Microsoft 365 analytics capabilities.
- Experience with sourcing and procurement platforms such as Coupa, GEP, Oracle, or similar solutions is desirable (not essential).
- Solid understanding of financial analysis, supplier evaluation methodologies, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a global, matrixed environment.
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement principles and process optimization methodologies.
Minimum Formal Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience).
Minimum Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, procurement analytics, or related analytical disciplines.
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing analytical teams.
- Experience supporting global stakeholders and working within cross-functional environments.
Job Timings:
- 2:30 PM to 11:30 PM IST
