About Our Family

We are a busy, loving family of eight with six children ranging from infant to teenager. Our home is full of energy, activity, and meaningful moments, and we are deeply committed to creating a supportive and intentional environment for our children. With multiple school schedules, activities, and the everyday rhythms of a large family, we are looking for someone who can bring steady, dependable support to our home.

We're looking for someone who enjoys running the operational side of a home—someone who naturally creates systems, stays ahead of recurring needs, notices what others overlook, and finds satisfaction in bringing calm, order, and consistency to a busy family. The primary focus of this role is serving as the family's household operations partner—keeping the home organized, household inventory (food, clothing, and supplies) maintained, and the countless behind-the-scenes details proactively managed so the family can focus on one another rather than logistics.

The ideal person is organized, dependable, and naturally notices what needs to be done. They enjoy creating order in a busy household, are comfortable around children of different ages, and take pride in being someone a family can truly rely on. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys both household management and being a positive presence in the lives of children.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

  • Proactive and intuitive — notices what needs attention and takes initiative without needing constant direction.
  • Warm and nurturing — enjoys being around children of all ages and can provide patient, supportive guidance when needed.
  • Patient and open-minded with children — comfortable supporting a child with autism and understanding that communication, behavior, and needs can look different for every child. Experience with autism or neurodivergent children is a plus, but a willingness to learn and provide respectful, compassionate support is most important.
  • Comfortable in a busy household — able to thrive around noise, sibling dynamics, changing schedules, and the everyday energy of a large family.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented — creates systems, keeps track of details, and approaches responsibilities with a "see it, handle it" mindset.
  • Reliable and punctual — understands that consistency and follow-through are essential in a household support role.
  • Energetic and efficient — able to move quickly, manage multiple priorities, and bring steady energy to the home.
  • Clear and respectful communicator — communicates professionally while understanding the importance of respecting the family's space and routines.
  • Comfortable stepping in with children when needed — able to provide occasional childcare support for younger children during appointments, meetings, or date nights.
  • Values respectful caregiving — naturally supports a positive, encouraging, and values-aligned environment for children.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities below reflect the ways this role will support the family. Some tasks are weekly priorities, while others are seasonal or completed as needs arise.

Meal Support

  • Batch cook 2–3 lunches and dinners per week with enough for leftovers (fresh/hot service not required; batch, crockpot, or oven-ready meals preferred)
  • Prep school lunches and stock the fridge so older children can pack their own
  • Collaborate with the family on meal planning using existing family recipes, with the ability to take initiative over time
  • Manage grocery shopping, whether in-store or via delivery, and maintain a well-stocked pantry and fridge
  • Handle kitchen clean-up and maintenance

  • Oversee and coordinate with cleaners, landscapers, and the home maintenance vendor
  • Help manage the existing home maintenance system task list and ensure tasks are tracked and followed up on
  • Assist with preliminary vendor research for projects and present options for family decision-making
  • Coordinate seasonal outdoor tasks including spring and fall landscaping cleanups, sprinkler system turn-on and turn-off, gutter cleaning, and tree trimming scheduling

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Manage and update shared family calendars
  • Schedule and coordinate kids' medical and dental appointments
