Department Overview
The OHSU Division of Hospital Medicine’s mission is, “To serve, connect, and educate in order to heal, comfort, and empower” and we are seeking others who share these values to join our team. We are part of the Department of Medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and encompass the Sections of Hospital Medicine at the University (Marquam Hill campus), Hillsboro Medical Center, and the Portland VA Medical Center.
Our faculty members are all hospitalists: clinicians whose primary professional focus is the general medical care of hospitalized patients and pre-operative medical consultation. Their activities include direct patient care teaching, research, and leadership related to hospital medicine.
Function/Duties of Position
The successful applicant will perform the following duties:
- Staff Clinical Hospitalist Service night shifts over the course of the academic year.
- Participate in hospital-based teaching
- On average spend 3 days per week of ultrasound educational activities and practice in varying clinical settings
- Attend weekly image review & planning sessions with the program director or educational sonographer
- Create, complete, and publish or present at least 1 IRB approved research project
- Contribute to other longitudinal ultrasound research projects
- Contribute to ultrasound teaching events for students, residents & faculty
- Otherwise positively contribute to the OHSU Ultrasound Group
Preferred Qualifications
- MD/DO degree (or equivalent)
- Board certification or board eligibility is required
- Demonstrated commitment to educational excellence in clinical setting is required
- Advanced training in medical education is highly desirable
