ACADEMIC FACULTY APPOINTMENT: The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine
An Associate Professor of Digital Health at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is expected to play a leading role in advancing the School’s research, teaching, and academic mission. The successful candidate will develop and sustain an internationally recognised research programme in Digital Health that aligns with the School’s strategic research priorities, while fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and translating research into meaningful healthcare impact. The appointee will also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, mentor early-career researchers and students, and provide academic leadership within the School. In addition, the Associate Professor will undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Dean and the Vice Dean (Research).
Key Responsibilities
Job Purpose:
- Provide academic and research leadership in Digital Health by developing an internationally recognised research programme, securing competitive research funding, and advancing innovative digital health solutions that address key healthcare challenges.
- Lead and contribute to the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of the Digital Health curriculum across the MBBS programme and postgraduate education, ensuring that graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to harness digital technologies, data science, and artificial intelligence in clinical practice and healthcare innovation.
- Strengthen the School’s strategic priorities in Digital Health through interdisciplinary collaboration, mentorship of students and early-career researchers, and the translation of research into clinical practice, healthcare policy, and societal impact.
Primary Activities:
- Develop, lead, and sustain an internationally recognised research programme in Digital Health by conducting high-impact research, securing competitive research funding, publishing in leading peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to the scholarly community through peer review, editorial activities, and research leadership.
- Secure and manage competitive research grants and cultivate strategic partnerships with academic, healthcare, government, and industry stakeholders to support a sustainable and impactful research portfolio.
- Provide leadership in the design, delivery, and continuous enhancement of the Digital Health curriculum within the MBBS programme, and contribute to postgraduate education through innovative teaching, curriculum development, and the supervision of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
- Foster interdisciplinary research and education by initiating and leading collaborative projects with faculty across the Data Science Research Theme, LKCMedicine, NTU, and external partner institutions.
- Mentor and supervise junior faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, research staff, and students, fostering academic excellence, career development, and a collaborative research culture.
- Contribute to the academic leadership and governance of the School by serving on committees, participating in strategic initiatives, supporting accreditation and quality assurance activities, and undertaking other administrative responsibilities as assigned.
- Promote the translation of Digital Health research into clinical practice, healthcare policy, and innovation through engagement with healthcare providers, industry partners, government agencies, and the wider community.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
- MBBS/MD and/or PhD degree(s)
- Relevant postdoctoral or clinical experience
- Significant experience and outstanding, record of translational clinical research and teaching with a high level of scientific achievement, productivity and impact in the field of Digital Health
Management and Teamwork:
- Ability to lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work co-operatively with medical and non-medical staff
- Ability to supervise research staff and students
Communicating and Influencing:
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students
- Ability to motivate others
- Strong presentation skills

- Track record of having supervised graduate students to successful completion of PhDs.
Time Commitment
The level of effort for this appointment is at 1.0 full time equivalent (FTE) employment.
