CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to join our Highway & Rail Team in Rocky Hill, CT. As a trusted technical leader, you will oversee the technical direction on impactful transportation projects, guide multidisciplinary teams, and help deliver innovative roadway solutions that enhance safety, connectivity, and long-term community growth.

What You'll Do:

• Lead the technical execution of complex engineering designs, technical reports, and specifications for highway and rail projects
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multidiscipline transportation projects
• Lead advanced technical projects, collaborating with other engineering departments and project management staff to deliver sustainable solutions
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, ensuring projects are completed within budget and scheduling restraints
• Guide and mentor junior engineering staff, including providing technical reviews and support
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients, public, and regulatory agencies

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• CTDOT experience required
• Project and client management experience highly desired
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with a proven ability to apply best practices
• Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (ORD) as well as Microsoft Office
• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred

Salary Range:

$135,000 - $150,000

 

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
