Trade Operations Manager - Remote Germany/Europe (m/f/d)

We are building a new proprietary crypto trading desk and need a Trade Operations Manager to run its day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role. You will own the operational plumbing of the desk, ensuring every part of the trade lifecycle runs smoothly, accurately and at scale.

You'll sit close to the trading and engineering teams and report directly to the Head of Trading. Your job is to keep the trade lifecycle running with speed and precision, respond fast when something breaks, and turn a startup setup into operations that scale as our capital under management grows to multiple million euros.

This is ideal for someone who likes owning the details, wants real responsibility early and would rather fix the process than write a memo about it. It's an operator role, not a strategy or business-management role. If you want to run the machine day to day and see the impact of your work immediately, this is for you.

## Tasks

**What you would do**

Trade Operations (your core)

• Run the full trade lifecycle day to day: order execution monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Own daily reconciliation across venues, custodians, and wallets. Keep it clean and keep it current.
• Monitor execution in real time. Spot bad fills, routing problems, stale quotes, and slippage, and get them fixed fast.
• Build and maintain the operational tools and workflows that keep trading activity running smoothly.

Incident Response & Reliability

• Own the incident runbook. When something breaks (a trading error, a venue outage etc.) you are first responder and you drive it to resolution.
• Track incidents, find root causes, and close the loop with the engineering team so the same thing doesn't happen twice.
• Keep the desk resilient: monitoring, alerting, and clear escalation paths.

Process & Reporting

• Improve operational processes continuously to cut errors, reduce manual work, and free traders from operational bottlenecks.
• Produce clean operational reporting and KPI tracking for the Head of Trading.
• Support coordination with exchanges, custodians, and other external operational partners.

Risk & Compliance (support)

• Monitor risk exposures and trading limits day to day, and flag breaches immediately.
• Operate the controls and reporting the desk relies on, and support the wider risk and compliance framework owned above you.

## Requirements

**What we are looking for**​​​​​

• Experience in trading operations, trade support, middle/back office, or a related operational function in digital assets or traditional finance. A proprietary trading, hedge fund, or exchange background is a strong plus.
• Hands-on mindset. You build and fix things yourself and you're comfortable in a lean, non-hierarchical setup without direct reports.
• Sharp eye for detail under time pressure. Reconciliation breaks and execution anomalies don't slip past you.
• Technical fluency: comfortable with Excel and SQL, and able to read or write basic scripts to automate operational work.
• Calm and fast under incidents. You keep a clear head when something breaks in production.
• Strong communication and organizational skills. You can run a process and keep the people around it informed.
• Keen interest in blockchain, crypto, and DeFi is a definite plus.
