Operations Supervisor

Description and Essential Functions

Responsible for providing supervision and supporting the daily operations for the fixed route service. Communicate consistent and accurate information to Bus Operators and the public. Ensure compliance with ADA and DOT regulations through regular and consistent daily observation and counsel. 

• Supports Bus Operators, Dispatchers, and general passengers
• Provides feedback and training to Bus Operators
• Provides customer service through daily interaction with passengers, the community, and GMT’s community partners
• Ensures all work assignments and scheduled routes are performed in a timely and accurate manner
• Monitors and manages Bus Operator compliance with route and schedule adherence
• Manages detours/road closures and other interruptions to transit service; implements detours as necessary and communicates with other staff
• Monitors on-time performance (OTP) and manages OTP digital integrity
• Observes and reports information to GMT Operations management
• Drives transit bus in revenue service, non-revenue service, or as required by GMT management. Works in the Dispatch Office as required
• Facilitates and implements new bid schedules
• Conducts reasonable suspicion assessments as required
• Responds to accidents and incidents and documents per operating procedure. Conducts accident investigations when necessary
• Recommends disciplinary action when Bus Operators violate company standards and legal regulations
• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing organization standards and adhering to legal regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a transit-related field is preferred.
• A thorough knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of the transit bus routes.
• A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements is required.
• A clean driving record and the ability to pass standard background checks, a DOT medical physical, and a pre-employment drug screen are required.
• Familiarity with transportation services and excellent customer service skills are beneficial.

Must be proficient in or have the ability to become proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Mail. Ability to become proficient with video recording systems. Benefits

• Wage: Starting wage is $36.83 per hour
• Schedule: 4 - 10 hour shifts, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 1:00 pm to 11:30 pm. 
• Time Off: 8.67 hours of paid time off accrued per pay period; equivalent to 5+ weeks off per year.
