Overview
Job Summary
Analyzes, documents, designs and programs Clinical Information System applications, provides enhancements and maintains current applications to meet the needs of clinicians in providing quality, cost effective care.
Responsibilities
Evaluates existing use of requests by end-users with emphasis on system design, procedures, workflow, reports and paper forms.Collaborates with, and guides, end-users in identifying opportunities for eliminating work and improving quality.Prepare functional specifications for application changes.Identifies and codes all screens related to a specific project.Follows established standards of system design, configuration, and testing during development process.Coordinates necessary table/files updates with database personnel.Coordinates and/or provides some training and development of policies/procedures related to system access, use, and confidentiality issues.Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving with users.Exhibits knowledge of current medical practices, government regulations, and business standards, and documentation methods and trends.Responsible for providing own connectivity to perform remote support.Responsible for adhering to HH and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
Education:
Require Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in clinical area or equivalent in clinical field, informatics or healthcare. Will take experience in lieu of degree.
Experience:
Should be able to demonstrate competencies in the following Oracle Cerner training or equivalent business or clinical application training: Fundamental knowledge of how to configure Millennium applications in Bedrock, CCL Reporting knowledge, Basic tables and files maintenance, Web page development, Advanced coding or equivalent competency, Customer Service skills. Basic understanding of how to configure Athena Patient Accounting applications.
Additional skills/abilites:
Requires excellent oral and written communication skills plus well developed interpersonal skillsAbility to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple assignments in a stressful work environment.Knowledge of current standards, legislation, practices, delivery systems, documentation methods and trends in medicine.
