At Quantum Technology Laboratories GmbH (qtlabs), we are at the forefront of innovation in optical and quantum communication technologies. qtlabs develops cutting-edge quantum key distribution (QKD) technology with a focus on satellite-based communication. Based in Vienna, we develop and provide technology for secure communication systems around the world. Among our products are optical ground stations, free-space optical links, and quantum light sources.

The Role

For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated individual with technical or natural science background and experience in B2B sales. Familiarity and experience in quantum technology, space sector, and (optical) communication technology is a great plus. Being part of the Business Development and Sales Team at qtlabs, you will be responsible for our sales activities, including lead generation, bid management, account management and the development of sales strategies and tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead generation
• Commercial bid management
• Engage with customers to capture functional, operational, and technical requirements
• Provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle, including customer meetings, proposal preparation, and development of technical documentation
• Account management and customer education
• Market analysis and sales strategies
• Establishment of a customer relationship management tool
• Represent qtlabs at conferences and fairs
• Support product definition

Required Qualifications

• Educational Background: Degree in a technical or natural science discipline with a robust understanding of (optical) communication, optics, and quantum physics.
• Professional Experience: Ideally at least 2 years of experience in a B2B sales role, preferably within the field of space, photonic technology, or telecommunication.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
• Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to sales, adaptable to new technologies, and skilled in long-term client relationship management.
• High degree of independence and ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively
• Diligent handling of bid processes
• Ability to work closely with R&D teams and business development in complex bids and the definition of products
• Fluent in English (German is a plus but not required)

The minimum gross salary for this position is €3.157,47 per month (based on full-time employment) in accordance with the collective agreement. However, there is a willingness to offer a higher salary depending on experience and qualifications.
