He whakamārama mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive Procurement Administrator Contractor to join our team for six months.
In this role, you’ll provide day-to-day administrative support across Watercare’s procurement activities, helping ensure supplier information, contracts and purchase orders are processed accurately and efficiently. You’ll work closely with the Procurement team, suppliers and teams across the business, responding to queries and maintaining accurate procurement information in our systems (Infor LN and MS365 suite). This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, improving processes and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.
In this role, you will:
Maintain accurate supplier, contract and item information
Support the administration of supplier contracts and purchasing activities
Monitor outstanding purchase orders and follow up on items that require receipting
Process invoice receipts and investigate purchase order or invoice discrepancies
Respond to procurement, supplier, contract and purchase order and invoice queries
Support the setup and maintenance of supplier records
Monitor the Procurement mailbox and ensure enquiries are directed or resolved promptly
Maintain accurate procurement documentation, records and reporting
Liaise with internal stakeholders to obtain relevant information and approvals
Support the Procurement team with meetings, reporting and general administration
Help ensure Watercare’s procurement policies and processes are followed
Identify opportunities to improve procurement administration

You’ll be a highly organised administrator with strong attention to detail and a practical, customer-focused approach. You’ll be comfortable working with systems, managing competing priorities and building positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders across the business.
You will bring:
Previous administration experience, within procurement, purchasing or supply chain
Experience raising and managing purchase orders
Strong data-entry skills and excellent attention to detail
Confidence working with procurement, finance or enterprise systems
Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning, coordination and organisational skills
The ability to investigate and resolve administrative queries
The confidence to follow up on outstanding information and actions
A proactive, collaborative and customer-focused approach
The ability to manage confidential and commercially sensitive information
Experience using Infor LN or a similar enterprise (Tier1 EPP) systems would be advantageous.
