Sr Tax Accountant

Overview

This role supports the US Sales and Use tax function, focusing on compliance across multiple legal entities, including preparation of returns, use tax accruals, account reconciliations, and audit support. The position includes exemption certificate collection and validation, tax research on taxability and nexus, and responses to internal inquiries and state notices. The role coordinates with US based indirect tax leadership, finance, and AR teams to maintain accurate filings, complete documentation

Responsibilities

• Prepare and file sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Prepare use tax accrual calculations and related journal entries
• Reconcile tax accounts and investigate and resolve variances
• Track filing calendars and compliance deadlines to ensure timely filings
• Perform collection of resale and exemption certificates from customers
• Review exemption certificates for validity, completeness, and jurisdictional requirements
• Maintain organized and audit ready repository of exemption certificates
• Coordinate with AR and billing teams to resolve missing or invalid documentation
• Prepare and track responses to tax notices and correspondence with state and local authorities
• Document and standardize compliance processes across entities
• Research sales and use tax rules including taxability and nexus and support inquiries
• Prepare audit support documentation and coordinate responses to information requests
• Prepare responses to internal inquiries related to sales and use tax compliance and reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4 to 7 years of US sales and use tax experience
• Strong hands on experience with compliance and filings
• Experience with exemption certificates and audit support
• Familiarity with ERP systems and Tax Engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource)
• Strong Data Analytics skills
• Ability to work US hours in a mid shift schedule
