Senior Tax Accountant
Ultradent, a 47-year-old global company, is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to support our domestic and international tax functions. This position will coordinate the preparation and filing of consolidated income tax returns, quarterly estimated tax payments, extensions, and the consolidated income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740.
The Senior Tax Accountant will also support sales and use tax, value-added tax (VAT), property tax, and other business tax obligations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical tax knowledge with careful analysis, sound judgment, and an interest in improving processes. This position will be mostly onsite and will report directly to the company's Financial Controller. It has no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and support sales and use tax, property tax, VAT, and other business tax filings across applicable jurisdictions.
- Prepare and review U.S. federal and state income tax accounting calculations in accordance with ASC 740 for U.S. corporations and foreign affiliates.
- Coordinate U.S. federal and multi-state income tax compliance activities with the company’s external tax provider.
- Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments and extensions.
- Support the preparation of the consolidated income tax provision and related disclosures.
- Assist with domestic and international tax matters, including indirect taxes and VAT.
- Gather information and prepare responses for U.S. federal, state, and international tax audits.
- Research domestic, international, state, and local tax matters and document conclusions in clear technical memoranda.
- Identify, design, and implement systems and process improvements that increase the accuracy and efficiency of tax reporting and compliance.
- Advise management on tax matters, regulatory compliance, and risk-management considerations.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external advisers to obtain information and resolve tax-related issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Three to five years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or a multinational corporate tax department.
- Strong knowledge of income tax accounting, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state corporate income tax rules.
- Working knowledge of ASC 740.
- Experience conducting tax research and documenting technical conclusions.
- Strong financial and tax analysis skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in taxation or a related field.
- Active CPA license.
- Experience supporting international tax, VAT, or other indirect tax matters.
- Experience improving tax processes, systems, or reporting workflows.
