At Civista, the Marketing Designer & Coordinator is a working member of the Marketing and Communications team, pairing strong visual design skills with hands-on involvement in the day-to-day operations of the bank's marketing program. This is not a pure design role. It calls for someone equally comfortable producing polished brand materials and handling platform management, vendor coordination, event support, and internal communications. The right candidate brings formal design training, a collaborative approach, and the organizational discipline to keep several workstreams moving at once.
Position Purpose:
A design-capable marketing generalist who produces high-quality Civista brand materials while owning our sales enablement platform, managing marketing supplies, and supporting events, internal communications, and internal projects. This person works closely with the Marketing Manager and serves as a production and coordination resource across the department.
Description of Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
Brand and visual identity
- Maintain and apply Civista's brand standards across all design outputs, including print collateral, presentations, flyers, and digital assets
- Produce social graphics and email marketing assets in support of the marketing team
- Build ads to agency specifications for campaigns running through outside partners
- Handle logo, branding, and design requests from departments across the bank
- Support event graphics, signage, and promotional materials
- Maintain organized shared asset libraries and file systems for the department
- Video editing is not required but a plus.
Sales enablement
- Own day-to-day management of the bank's sales enablement platform
- Maintain and update templates so sales teams across private banking, treasury, mortgage, Civista@Work, and retail have current materials
- Handle incoming update and change requests, and keep the request queue moving
- Partner with the marketing specialist, who develops new templates and design files for the platform
Vendor and supply management
- Own marketing supply ordering and the relationship with the bank's print and promotional vendors
- Coordinate quotes, proofs, production timelines, and delivery
Events and community engagement
- Support event planning and logistics for community and bank events
- Manage design deliverables and production timelines for event materials
- Support the workflow behind the bank's community events, sponsorship, and donation program, including meeting participation and back-end coordination
Internal and customer communications
- Produce and distribute internal advisories to staff when an issue is affecting customers
- Support communications production, including mail merges and distribution of customer impact reports
- Design internal communications materials such as team announcements and department updates
Collaboration and workflow
- Partner with the content marketing specialist to produce finished social and content pieces, leading creative execution
- Participate in and represent marketing in bank projects
- Manage several concurrent projects and deadlines with clear communication and proactive follow-through
- Dedication to ongoing learning activities. Staying up to date on emerging marketing tools and services which increase job efficiencies.
- All other duties assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.
Requirements
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in an agency, in-house creative, or marketing environment
- Graphic design, desktop publishing skills and video production experience preferred
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop – Premiere Pro is a plus
- Strong command of typography, layout, print production, and brand design principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word
- A portfolio that shows range and craft across print and digital formats
- Ability to take a project from idea to finished piece independently, and to work collaboratively when a project calls for it
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing logistics alongside creative work
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
- A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to function in a financial institution environment and utilize standard office equipment including, but not limited to: PC, multi-function printer, telephone, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Work involves eye strain due to the frequent use of computer screens, the reading of reports, proofing advertising information, and so forth
- Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions
- Work involves lifting and moving files and event materials of up to 25 lbs.
- Work involves ability to read, hear, write, and communicate professionally both in person and via telephone
