Location: Cincinnati, OH

Salary: $90,000-$100,000 Base Salary + Monthly Bonus Potential

Our client is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join their fast-paced manufacturing operation near Cincinnati. This is a highly hands-on role for a controls professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving problems under production pressure, and improving the reliability of automated manufacturing systems.

The immediate focus will be diagnosing controls issues, restoring production quickly, and implementing lasting solutions. As the operation becomes more proactive, you will play a key role in developing a stronger controls and reliability program.

What You’ll Do

• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, computer, and industrial control-system issues
• Create, modify, and maintain controls programs
• Work directly on manufacturing equipment, such as fineblanking presses, conveyors, and material handling systems, to diagnose and resolve failures
• Support automation, robotics, and inspection systems
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs for controls systems
• Establish controls backups, critical spare-parts strategies, and standardized troubleshooting practices
• Maintain electrical drawings, controls documentation, and schematics
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective-action initiatives
• Train Maintenance personnel in controls troubleshooting
• Contribute to continuous improvement, problem-solving, and equipment-performance initiatives

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Beckhoff and Siemens controls experience is highly preferred (Allen-Bradley experience is also valuable)
• 5+ years of controls programming/troubleshooting experience
• Industrial controls and manufacturing troubleshooting experience
• Mechatronics and systems-integration experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methodologies
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a production environment and respond quickly to equipment issues

• Controls/electrical design experience using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software
• Project management and team-training experience
