ABOUT MID-OHIO FOOD COLLECTIVE
POSITION OVERVIEW
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Inbound & Outbound Handling: Safely load, unload, pick, pack, and stage frozen, refrigerated, and fresh food products for partner agency deliveries.

Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse machinery-including electric pallet jacks/riders, propane/electric forklifts, and cherry pickers-to move and stack materials safely.

Quality & Inventory Control: Inspect incoming shipments for quality and compliance. Practice First Expired, First Out (FEFO) inventory control methods.

Documentation & Logistics: Complete required receiving/shipping paperwork, label pallets, shrink-wrap orders, and partner with the Freezer Inventory Specialist on cycle counts and replenishment.

Warehouse Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with food safety standards and organizational safety protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience operating electric pallet jacks/riders and forklifts (propane and electric). Prior cherry picker experience is strongly preferred.

Skills: Strong basic math skills, attention to detail, and good customer service skills. Ability to work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (frequently lift 30 lbs., occasionally lift up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 300 lbs. using a manual pallet jack). Must be comfortable working in sub-freezing temperatures for extended periods.
