Our M&A Tax team supports clients through the tax aspects of acquisitions, disposals, restructures, capital transactions and other strategic investments. As a Senior Associate, you’ll help clients understand and manage tax risks, assess transaction structures and navigate the tax implications of significant business decisions.
Your day-to-day could include:
- Supporting buy-side, sell-side and vendor tax due diligence engagements across a range of industries and transaction types.
- Reviewing target businesses’ historical tax positions and identifying material risks, exposures and opportunities.
- Analysing acquisition, holding, financing and disposal structures, including cross-border considerations.
- Reviewing tax provisions in transaction documents and connecting due diligence findings with appropriate protections.
- Preparing clear, client-ready technical analysis, due diligence reports, presentations and practical recommendations.
- Managing allocated workstreams across multiple engagements, coordinating information requests and meeting tight transaction deadlines.
- Collaborating with clients, PwC Deals teams, lawyers, corporate advisers and specialists across corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, GST and employment tax.
- Supporting and coaching junior colleagues while contributing to proposals, knowledge-sharing and process improvements.

- A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, taxation, law, finance, commerce, economics or a related discipline.
- Experience in corporate tax, transaction tax, M&A tax, international tax or another closely related area.
- Strong research, technical analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial, commercial and tax information.
- Clear written and verbal communication, strong attention to detail and confidence working with clients and senior team members.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- A commercial mindset, sound professional judgement and a collaborative approach to building trusted relationships.
- Experience with acquisitions, disposals, restructures, transaction documentation, cross-border matters or multidisciplinary teams would be advantageous.
- Progress towards a relevant professional qualification such as CA, CPA or a legal qualification would also be advantageous.
