Corporate M&A and Private Equity Associate (Senior Level)

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, is seeking a senior Corporate Associate (6–8+ years) in the Corporate Practice, Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and private equity practice of our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. Work with private equity sponsors, family offices, portfolio companies, founder-led businesses and other businesses on buyouts, add-on acquisitions, growth equity investments, recapitalizations, and exits. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives on managing sophisticated transactions, leading deal teams, and working directly with clients on strategic initiatives. Our team handles deals across industries including healthcare, technology, professional services, infrastructure, insurance, education, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and financial services, with support from GT’s global platform of transactional and regulatory lawyers and other specialists.

Your Role

• Leading M&A and private equity transactions from inception to closing, including structuring, negotiation, and execution.

• Serving as primary contact for clients, advising on legal, strategic, and business considerations.

• Supervising and mentoring junior associates and paralegals in all phases of deal work.

• Coordinating with specialists in tax, regulatory, IP, and finance to address complex transactional issues.

• Handling high-stakes negotiations and drafting principal transaction agreements.

• Managing post-closing matters, including purchase price adjustments, integration issues, and dispute resolution.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Admission to the Florida Bar or willingness to become admitted promptly.

• 6–8+ years of corporate transactional experience, with a strong focus on M&A, at a leading law firm.

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage all aspects of a transaction.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Significant experience with cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions.

• Prior representation of private equity funds and portfolio companies.

• Interest in building long-term client relationships in South Florida and nationally.
